How do I design a Logo

I’ve learned a little about design last year when I was in the Foundation school. In this blog, I would like to talk about the process of a company logo that I made in class last year. Looking back, I find that the whole process of logo design matches the method, Double Diamond: discover, define, develop, deliver.

The challenge is to design a logo for a locker company.
First, we did some research about logos and browsed many different kinds and styles of logos. Also, think about the name of the company. (I decided to use “Bee Bee Locker” because the closeness of the locker reminds me of beehive and beehive is related to bee.)

Then create my own image bank. Put some inspirational element photos in image bank as references when designing logo later, and start to think about the main colours of the logo. (For me, the colour represents bee, yellow.)

The next step is to draft, draw a large number of sketches, quickly and simply draw my ideas on paper, and then discussed with classmates, let them give comments or draw their ideas.
Select some good ideas from the sketch then design logos with software. ( I used Adobe Illustrator.)

The lock one is too complicated hard to read the words.
The logo made by two "e"s is really like the GUCCI's logo. ( It should not be plagiarism.)
The logo in the lower right corner looks more like a poster.
Select good logos to develop (ask others for opinion). At this step, just make some small changes, like colours.

Choose the final logo. ( I found that this logo is simple and clear to see and I asked my teacher and classmates for their opinions. Two letters b form a closed figure, which gives a sense of safety and airtightness.)
