To better understanding the MR (mixed reality), first we need to understand the VR (virtual reality) and AR (Augmented Reality).

VR: In this virtual world, people can feel the stimulation of vision, hearing and touch. In a word, it's just using VR tools in the virtual world, and it just like in the real world.

AR: AR and VR need computer technology, the difference is that AR can display virtual information in the real world.

With AR technology, the real environment and virtual information or objects can be displayed in the same picture or space.

MR: combines VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality) perfectly to provide a new visual environment. In this visual environment, physical entities and digital objects form a holographic image like effect, and they can interact with each other.

The relationship between AR, VR and MR

can be concluded by this picture.

From Mark’s speech there is three main point about MR:

· Mixed Reality involves simulating sensory input

· Goal is to create a sense of Presence

· Key system design elements: Display, Tracking, Input

Since we were learning unity, I found a game using MR technology.

Escape from Death Star is a mixed reality combat game developed by DataMesh. Game accessories include a gun, a dual port power bank, a tactical vest, and a helmet. Each group of equipment is equipped with three Hololens, one of which is used at a time to ensure the game's endurance and stability. This MR game combines virtual images and real world seamlessly. Players can intuitively interact with the real world and real teammates, and run and move freely. The whole process of the game can be displayed through Datamesh live! And shared through a third-party platform. While wearing Hololens, players can observe the progress of the game and interact with teammates, physical space and game images in an all-round way. DataMesh uses external positioning to adjust the position of Hololens in the large space, and uses the spatial mapping technology of Hololens to ensure the stability of positioning in close range positioning, so as to optimize the positioning ability of this large space project. Multi player, multi terminal and cross platform system enables real-time sharing of all information in the same scene and improves the game experience. The off-site personnel can also interact with players in the game through other clients. The cloud platform can upload video clips and pictures in the game to the cloud in real time. After scanning the mobile phone code, players can log in and select videos and pictures to share with friends on social software.
